AIA International — Call for nominations
As provided for in the AIA International Region bylaws, the officers (President, First Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary) have staggered two-year terms; at this year's annual meeting the region will elect a new Secretary.
The region is making a special effort to make this year's meeting and election more accessible, with candidate information readily available in advance.

AIA Europe will hold a Chapter meeting during its upcoming conference: Barcelona | The Compact City. All members are encouraged to attend. The meeting will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Mercat del Born.

conducted for the purpose of nominating and electing the Secretary whose term expires at the end of
2016; for receiving the annual reports of the Board and the Treasurer; and for the transaction of such other

Attendees who attend the optional opening tour for the conference Barcelona | the Compact City on Thursday, 14 April can earn an extra AIA CES LU, bringing the projected total to 18.
Members who have not renewed their Institute membership for 2016 can maintain the continuity of their membership by renewing before 31 March, and enjoy the advantage of a discounted registration for Barcelona | the Compact City. Those with an unassigned or local-inly membership with AIA Continental Europe enjoy the same discounted rate. Three-tiered AIA renewals can be done through aia.org/renew; AIA Europe memberships can be done at aiaeurope.org/renew.

Opens and clicks on the most recent newsletter were lower than average for the 500+ subscriber AIA Europe newsletter but registrations for the upcoming conference in Barcelona started at a pace faster than any recent event. Following recent policy, registration rates are discounted for both AIA Europe and Institute members who are part of the International Region.
AIA UK member Lester Korzilius elevated to fellow
Long time AIA Europe supporter and member Lester Korzilius has been "elevated to the College of Fellows for his many years of service to the AIA UK, the International Region, and the Institute." Lester is a past president and current board member of AIA UK. He served on the AIA Europe board as secretary for 2012-2013. Read the AIA UK announcement.
2016 Honorary FAIA Announcement
The @AIANational College of Fellows class of 2016 includes two within the AIA Europe as Honorary FAIA: Louisa Hutton, Hon. FAIA of Germany and Reiulf Ramstad, Hon. FAIA of Norway.
Honorary fellowship is bestowed on architects of esteemed character and distinguished achievements who are neither U.S. citizens nor U.S. residents, and who do not primarily practice architecture within the domain of the Institute.

2015 President Bertrand Coldefy and Past-president Karl Hartnack were in Hong Kong in December. They joined the AIA Hong Kong Xmas holiday party, invited by President Sujata Govada and President elect Kenneth Hau.
2015 Honors & Awards
Announced at the gala dinner for Vienna | The world's most livable city, AIA Europe is pleased to present the winners of the 2015 Honors & Awards Program.
Running independently of the Honors & Awards program was the Alan Schwartzman scholarship, awarded for the summer of 2015 to Julia Kwolyk of the University of Virginia. The presentation of her time at the École des Beaux-Arts at Fontainebleau during the Vienna conference is available to view here as a PDF.
